JAMIPOL, was set-up in 1995 as a joint venture promoted by Tata Steel and its associates, SKW Stahl-Metallurgie, Germany and TAI Industries and associates for manufacturing Desulphurising Compounds for desulphurization of hot metal.

The Company is in the business of manufacturing and marketing of Desulphurising Compounds (DCs) used by the Steel Industry for external desulphurization of hot metal (liquid iron). DCs are required for production of high quality low sulphur steel to International Standards, increase productivity and reduce cost. The setting up of JAMIPOL plant marked the beginning of a new era for the Indian Steel Industry, where a high-tech product vital for the Steel Industry was made available indigenously. Over the years, JAMIPOL added many products like Cored Wire, Deoxidising Compound and Dephosphorising Compound to its portfolio for sustainable Customer Value Creation. Its services include operation and maintenance of DS stations, selection of DS technology and equipment, assistance in commissioning of DS station, audit/ upgrade of existing DS Station. The company also provides services for reducing life cycle cost of DS through Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) basis by setting up DS stations at its own cost at customer premises through long term contract. The company has expertise in mineral grinding services such as Lime and Bentonite.

The Company's Integrated Management System is certified for three international standards — ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14007 : 2015, ISO 45001:2018 and is also certified for ISO/IEC 27001:2013.
