Mr. Peeyush Gupta

Chairman and Non Executive Director

Mr.Peeyush Gupta is Vice President, Supply Chain, Tata Steel and has been with Tata Steel for over 28 years. He has worked in various functional areas in Indian and South East Asian operations that include General Management, Marketing & Sales, Strategy, Finance & Performance Improvement Program. Prior to taking over this responsibility, he was working as Vice President – Steel (Marketing & Sales) and handled revenue responsibility pertaining to Indian operations of Tata Steel. He has also served as President & CEO of Tata Steel (Thailand) Plc. An MBA from McGill University, Canada, he has done Mechanical Engineering from Rajasthan University. In addition, he is a Chevening Scholar from Leeds Business School and has completed a Senior Management Development program at CEDEP, France.

Mr. Pingali Venugopal

Independent Director

Pingali Venugopal has teaching, industry, consulting and research experience in the Marketing function for over 40 years. He has been a faculty at XLRI, Jamshedpur since 1994 and the Dean of the institute from 2004 to 2010. He has also been a visiting faculty to leading institutes in India including the Indian Institutes of Management in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Ranchi, Kashipur, Visakhapatnam and Indore and international institutes including American University of Armenia and Educatis University Switzerland. He has also been inducted as a co-trainer for programmes done by Indo- US-Africa Trilateral co-operation on food security for functionaries from Kenya, Malawi and Liberia. Prior to joining academics, Venugopal worked in the marketing department of Coromandel Fertilisers and NagarjunaFertilisers and Chemicals ltd for a period of 10 years. He has published 8 books and several articles in leading international journals. European Scientific Research Journal recognized him with the prestigious Distinguished Scholar Award for 2021

Mr. Ravindra Pandey

Independent Director

Mr. Pandey is a career Banker who superannuated as Dy. Managing Director from State Bank of India (SBI). He had a stellar career spanning 37 years with SBI with proven track record in top leadership roles in domestic and international assignments. He has extensive knowledge, varied and rich leadership experience, covering all the facets of banking viz. Digital Banking, Corporate Credit, Risk and Regulatory Compliance, International Banking, Agri credit & Financial inclusion and strategic steering of very large, cross-functional teams. He has also built core competencies in Digital transformation, Risk management, Strategic thinking, Business transformation etc. He also held position of Chief Digital officer of SBI. He was instrumental in unlocking the value of merchant acquiring business of SBI through creation of a JV. As a digital banking strategist, he led adoption of emerging, disruptive and innovative processes to enable transformation of SBI as a digital bank with focus on superior customer experience with improved wallet share and improving efficiency. He has extensive Board level experience in financial services, having served on the Boards of several large and highly reputed organizations viz Yes Bank Ltd, NPCI etc. In addition, he was also a permanent invitee to the Board and other Board level committees of the State Bank of India.

Dasho Wangchuk Dorji

Non Executive Director

Dasho Wangchuk Dorji is the Chairman and Managing Director of Tai Industries Limited, flaunts a vibrant professional profile as Director of twelve companies. He is the Vice Chairman of Tashi Commercial Corporation which owns the Druk chain of hotels in Bhutan. Dasho`s phenomenal management and supervision skills have already earned him commendable repute.

Mr. Rohan Ghosh

Non Executive Director

Enlightened vision, supreme Marketing skills, an ability to combine the canon with strong, intuitive understanding and the enthusiasm of a sportsman – Rohan Ghosh, is all these and more rolled into one. He has been long into the board of JAMIPOL since 2002. Variety is the spice of his life as he seeks pleasure in various sports and theatre.

Dasho Topgyal Dorji

Non Executive Director

Dasho Topgyal Dorji has graduated from New Hampshire College, New Hampshire, USA; Post Graduate in Metallurgy and Management from Norway. He has experience in Team leadership for concept, build and operate Coca Cola Plant, 70 Crore Ferro-silicon Plant and later expansion of the same involving equal amount. He has taken responsibility for bringing into the country PDI project for international standard deluxe five star hotel and partner in it.

Mr. Uttam Singh

Non Executive Director

Mr. Uttam Singh, a qualified Metallurgical Engineer from IIT BHU, joined Tata Steel in 1992 as a Graduate Trainee. He spent his initial years working in Blast Furnace area. He was a part of Blast Furnace Operation, Engineering & Design and Technology for 24 years. He was designated as Dy Manager in 1999. He took the role of Chief Blast Furnaces in 2016. He currently leads the Iron Making division at Tata Steel.

Ms. Jaya Singh Panda

Non Executive Director

Jaya Singh Panda is the Chief of Learning & Development and the Chief Diversity Officer at Tata Steel. As Chief L&D, she is tasked with overseeing a comprehensive learning ecosystem for the company’s workforce, including the contract workers, working across different locations and functions.

Jaya is also the Settler of the J N Tata Vocational Training Institute (JNTVTI), a public charitable trust, that operates out of eight centres across three states. JNTVTI aims to enhance the employability and employment opportunities of the community’s youth through skill development programs.

In her role as the Chief Diversity Officer, she is dedicated to advancing the company endeavours in creating a vibrant, diverse and inclusive workplace for all its employees. 

Having joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1989, Jaya has worked across various functions; she led the TQM function before moving to HRM.

 Jaya holds an engineering degree from BIT Mesra and an MBA from XLRI. She is a Gold certified Business Excellence assessor and a JUSE (Japanese Union of Scientists & Engineers) certified TQM professional. She is a member on the Boards of Tata Steel group companies and is also on the Board of Governors of the Board of Practical Training (BOPT), Eastern Region, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

Mr. Gustavo Fernando Garcia

Non-Executive Director

With over 15 years of experience spanning General Counsel, Director of Human Resources and Labour Relations, Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary roles, Mr. Garcia brings a unique blend of legal, HR, and strategic business expertise.

Mr. Garcia is the Chief Legal and People Officer at Opta Group, a global leader headquartered in Burlington, Ontario. He leads the legal, HR, and compliance functions, supporting international operations and guiding strategy on governance, ESG, and regulatory matters.

Fernando holds an MBA in Strategic Management, dual law degrees (civil and common law), a Master of Industrial Relations, and a BA in Labour Studies. A champion of legal innovation, diversity and lawyer’s skills development, he is a frequent speaker and mentor in the legal and HR communities.

Mr. Robert Allan Byron McKeracher

Non-Executive Director

Rob McKeracher is a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience leading business transformations, primarily in the public markets and across the food and industrial sectors. He joined Opta Group as Chief Financial Officer in 2022 and was appointed its CEO effective September 16, 2024. Rob has a strong track record of driving strategic growth and operational improvement in complex environments. Prior to Opta, Rob served as Chief Financial Officer of SunOpta Inc. (Nasdaq: STKL, TSX: SOY), a leading global natural and organic food company, from 2011 to 2019. Earlier in his career, Rob held financial leadership roles at Magna Entertainment Corp. (formerly Nasdaq: MECA) in the gaming and entertainment industry, following four years in public accounting in the assurance and business advisory practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Rob is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.

Ms. Swastika Basu

Managing Director

Ms. Swastika Basu is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of diverse leadership experience at Tata Steel Ltd., where she has played a pivotal role across Group Strategic Procurement, Corporate Finance & Risk Management, and Project Management. She has been instrumental in driving value chain integration, cross-functional value-in-use trade-offs, adoption of new economic drivers, tolling activities, and transformative warehousing solutions, shaping operational excellence and strategic growth.

A trailblazer in the industry, Ms. Basu’s contributions have been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the ‘Star Deputy Leader’ award in the TBEM Assessment Cycle 2024 and the ‘She Maker Catalyst Award’ at the She Makers Summit 2023 for her outstanding efforts in fostering inclusivity in manufacturing. She is also a British Council Chevening Scholar at the London School of Economics and a national winner of the AIMA National Competition for Young Managers.

Ms. Basu began her journey at Tata Steel in 1990 as a Graduate Trainee, following her B.E. in Electrical Engineering from NIT Patna. She later earned an MBA in Marketing and Finance from XLRI, Jamshedpur, equipping her with a strong foundation in business strategy and financial acumen.

Beyond her corporate achievements, she is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, having served as Chairperson of the CII Indian Women Network, Jharkhand Chapter, and as a member of the CII IWN National Committee on Women Empowerment, where she has championed initiatives to create more inclusive workplaces. Prior to joining JAMIPOL, Ms. Basu was holding the position of Resident Director at TS Global Procurement Company Pte Ltd.
